How To Love Your Entrepreneur

“Harvard undergraduates believe that inventing a job is better than finding a job.” The Social Network
I received a quick email from Lorna Li of Green Marketing TV who is traveling in Mexico and working while traveling, laptop in tow. We use to slave together at a non-profit in Berkeley years ago. Lorna moved on and I remained because living with less and being loyal was something I had gotten accustomed to. And besides, it was my dream job to work for an organization with an unwavering commitment to true social change for the goodness of Humanity and beyond.
Now I’m in the world like she is and doing my best to navigate through the hopes and fears of our somewhat “primitive and paranoid society” as Gene Roddenberry was known to say. I’m learning how to be gainfully self-employed and like my boss because he’s awesome.
What I love about Lorna is her drive to move beyond self imposed limitations as an entrepreneur and to create a life of opportunities and prosperity. Not just for herself, but for others too. So as I dive into the work of creating compelling meta tags and promotional video for a client in San Francisco I ask myself, am I an inventor of my job today or finder? How about you?
